Gambling Commission Survey – Your Views Are Needed
We are sharing this survey on behalf of the Gambling Commission, who have set key challenges for the gambling industry as part of a drive to make gambling safer. Your responses to these questions will be shared with the Gambling Commission and will feed into their working group discussions.
There are three areas to this survey and we estimate that it will take around ten minutes to complete:
- Responsible Game Design
The Commission want operators to produce an Industry Code for Game Design that is effective in keeping consumers safer while they gamble by raising standards across industry. The Commission expect the code to set out:
- the techniques that the industry plans to use when designing apps, online games and gaming machine products to keep consumers safe while they are playing
- the risks associated with each product or game characteristic and how they can be managed
Your views are really important in helping make sure that the code is as effective as possible.
- Ad Technology
Research suggests that children, young people and vulnerable adults are being exposed to significant levels of gambling ads online, including via social media.
The Commission want gambling businesses to make better use of online ad technology to limit exposure to these audiences by blocking, screening and/or actively targeting ads away from them.
Your views are really important in helping to ensure that any such changes will have maximum impact.
- VIP Schemes
The Commission want operators to produce a code of practice that ensures incentives and bonuses used as part of VIP schemes do not conflict with the licensing objectives. The code must demonstrate how the use of VIP status, bonuses, hospitality or gifts can be offered in a responsible manner and not exacerbate or encourage at-risk behaviours.
Your views are really important in helping to make sure that the code is as effective as possible.
The survey will run for two weeks. You can access the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/G-C2020
