GamCare is pleased to announce the appointment of Victoria Corbishley as its new Chief Executive Officer, who brings to the charity a wealth of leadership experience in healthcare transformation and service delivery at a pivotal moment for the sector. Victoria joins GamCare from the British Red Cross, where she served as Senior Director of Health and Care, leading large-scale national health operations and shaping strategy for community services across the UK.
Victoria has a proven track record in leading complex health systems and driving service improvements at scale while maintaining a strong commitment to evidence-based, person-centred care. Her career spans the NHS, voluntary sector, and healthcare innovation, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable people through the delivery of effective intervention and prevention models.
This appointment comes as GamCare strengthens its role in the evolving gambling support landscape, expanding its outreach and treatment services and education focus across the UK. Victoria will lead efforts to enhance accessibility, deepen collaboration with key stakeholders, and ensure that GamCare remains at the forefront of support, education, and treatment for those affected by gambling harms.
Victoria Corbishley, Chief Executive Officer of GamCare, comments: “I am honoured to join GamCare at this crucial time. Last year alone, GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline received over 55,000 calls and online chats. The charity also directly delivered more than 9,100 structured treatment sessions, referred over 7,100 individuals to other regional support providers, and 64,000 people participated in the charity’s education programmes. These numbers highlight the essential role GamCare plays in supporting those affected by gambling harms, and reinforce our commitment to accessible, high-quality care. My focus will be on ensuring GamCare remains a leader in delivering life-changing interventions while working closely with partners across the NHS and wider sector to shape the future of gambling harm prevention treatment.”
Margot Daly, Chair of the Board, adds: “As GamCare navigates the evolving landscape, Victoria’s leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our collaborations with the NHS as well as UKRI and OHID as the new prevention commissioner. Her strategic mindset, operational expertise, and commitment to innovation align perfectly with our mission. I look forward to working with Victoria as we continue to expand GamCare’s impact and ensure our services remain responsive to the needs of those we support.”
