We are pleased to report our 2023/24 figures for both the gender and ethnicity pay gap here at GamCare.
Mark Weiss, GamCare’s Deputy CEO comments:
“This marks the fourth year of measuring our pay gap at GamCare, with this year the first that GamCare is legally required to report our gender pay gap, having grown into an organisation with over 250 colleagues. GamCare’s commitment to transparency and continuous improvement remains central to our work in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Our data for April 2024 highlights significant progress in closing the gender pay gap. GamCare’s mean gender pay gap has decreased from 6.14% in 2023 to 3.35% in 2024. The median figure has remained stable at 5.78%. This improvement reflects a more balanced distribution of female colleagues across all quartiles, as well as the impact of our revised pay framework introduced in April 2023. The structured grading and pay system ensure that salaries are determined fairly, reducing the potential for bias in pay progression.
For our ethnicity pay gap, GamCare has observed a shift in our mean figure from a positive gap in favour of ethnic minority colleagues in 2023 to a 1.97% gap in favour of white colleagues in 2024. Our median ethnicity pay gap has increased slightly to 4.75%. While these shifts are relatively small, they highlight the need for continued focus on equitable representation and pay across all levels of our organisation. We remain committed to providing opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds and will use data insights to further refine our recruitment and progression strategies.
At GamCare, we recognise the importance of taking proactive steps to challenge societal disparities, including the rising cost-of-living. Our leadership teams regularly review our pay gap data to identify and implement meaningful actions that drive progress.
As we move forward, GamCare’s focus will remain on refining our policies, improving representation at all levels, and ensuring fair and transparent pay practices. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone is treated equitably, with kindness, and where differences are embraced.”
