Seeking Participants for Research Study
Testing the Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) on Reducing Gambling Behaviour
Acceptance and Commitment Training or ‘ACT’ is a behavioural intervention used in many areas such as anxiety, weight loss and depression.
What is this research about
Research on the effectiveness of ACT on reducing gambling behaviours is limited. Through activities, exercises, and techniques each participant in this study will be supported to increase their skills in the six core processes of ACT, thereby increasing psychological flexibility, and researchers at Trinity College Dublin will measure if this had any effect on their level of gambling.
Who can take part
To take part, participants must be over 18 and gamble at least once a week. Sessions will be online, take about an hour, and last for eight weeks.
If you would like to take part please contact Barry Ryan at [email protected] by 14th May 2020.
