Your Thoughts on the National Gambling Treatment System
GambleAware have commissioned independent researchers to undertake an assessment of the strengths, gaps and areas for improvement across the current specialist gambling treatment system in Great Britain, which includes GamCare services as well as others.
This research aims to assess how much support is needed for gamblers, their family and friends across England, Scotland and Wales, and how this may vary across particular geographic areas and in different populations. This will help everyone across the treatment sector to better understand where we can work on improvements to existing treatment provision, as well as helping to plan for future needs and to better understand how we can engage more people with our services. Gathering insight from those who have previously used gambling treatment and support services is an important part of this process.
The research team have created two brief online surveys, one for gamblers and one for family or friends who have been impacted by gambling. Participation is completely voluntary, and any information you provide will only be stored and processed for the purpose of analysing survey results and providing recommendations to GambleAware. If you would like any further information about the research, please contact: Rebecca Apperson at [email protected] or the project lead Professor David Best on [email protected]
